Living in New York and coming to school everyday you must realize that immigration is still as big a topic as it was in the 1800s. There are still people that consider themselves "patriots" if they are against illegal immigration. One group even calls themselves "Minutemen" like the fighters in the Revolutionary War. In the video below they are holding an anti-illegal immigrant rally and a Mexican starts filming.
QUESTION:
Did these people seem "patriotic"? Are they the rebirth of the 1800s idea of "Nativism"?
This second video below provides an example of how the anti-immigrant fervor is growing in the US beyond the support of just white people.

Q2: No, Blacks are also against immigration but because they are scare that they won't find jobs and that they will have move because they only speaking spanish in the area they living. Yes i have notice tension between non-white and immigrants because when immigrants speaking their culture language sometimes the non-whites students tells them to talk english we in America.

VIDEO.1~I am shocked to this video. Before this i did not imagine that individuals would actually argue about factors like this. But i do admit i loved the way they cursed at each other. And like the Mexican called the Americans, "minutemen, cochroache..etc."
More over, i do think that these individuals seem "patriotic", they are fighting for what they believe: keeping their country.
VIDEO.2~ As it may seem is not only white individuals who are anti-immigration, in addition there are blacks who also believes the same. Now referring to the man in the video who said that he won't get a job because he does not know spanish. I feel that he cannot work at a store where the owner speaks no english..basically he just needs to look else where. Where individuals speak engish.
Yet, i have seen jokes made in tension between non-whites and immigrant students in my school.

Wow, nice comment Carla. I would like to add one thing to remember. Yes is horrible that Blacks and Latinos and any other "minority" group have problems with one another. As long as they fight they do make it easier for RICH people to gain more power. Don't forget, there are more non-rich people (regardless of race and that includes poor whites) than rich people on planet Earth.

My mother would agree with you but let's not forget that this is just one side of the problem. How many "immigrants" also choose to treat Blacks in a harmful manner? It goes both ways. My point is that seeing these clips should help us understand that we should look for more things to get together about instead of looking for things to fight about.

answer to question #1 they are not patriotic because the Mexicans helped throught many years on building up this country and if it wasn't for them it wouldn't be what it is today and if they were patriotic they would respect the people that helped build it. yes they are the reborn of 1800's "nativism" because thats how they use to treat all immigrants in the united states when they first arrived.
answer to question #2 no now there are black people against Spanish people and their language. yes ive noticed some tension between non whites and immigrants because they sometimes get mad at each other and say hwy don't you go back to your country you immigrant or they call them priks, hiks, spiks or simply an immigrant and this makes people mad and that how fight come out...even if its just playing people take things seriously.

I think both vedios are intresting.
